Scoring Competition for TV Series

Film Story
For Spitfire Audio’s Westworld Scoring Competition, I took an unconventional path, choosing to underscore the intense car chase scene with a jazz-fusion approach reminiscent of the gritty, cinematic soundscapes of the 1970s. Instead of the expected modern action scoring, I leaned into a palette built around a Fender Rhodes, syncopated rhythms, and rich orchestral textures, blending the swagger of vintage jazz with the dramatic punch of film scoring. The challenge was both creative and technical: to honor the visual energy and narrative stakes of the scene while reimagining it through a lens that evoked classic Lalo Schifrin or Herbie Hancock–infused scores. The result was a bold, stylized take that brought a different emotional color to the sequence, marrying nostalgia with adrenaline.
